Northwestern Medicine is piloting a drone delivery program at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, Illinois, in partnership with the startup Valqari. This initiative aims to transport medical supplies and lab specimens more efficiently, significantly reducing delivery times from over 30 minutes to about four minutes. The drones currently operate between the hospital and the cancer center, enhancing patient care by allowing staff to focus more on their clinical duties. With over 50 successful deliveries so far, the project could expand to other locations within Northwestern Medicine, especially benefiting rural hospitals where timely deliveries are crucial
